For many years I worked as a musician, and as a service technician for amusement companies in New Orleans. (and the greater metro area) There was hardly a bar, or entertainment place that I did not venture into, as part of my duties in these endeavors. Besides that, I also was fond of alcohol, and would even visit such places after work. I say all of this to make the point that I KNOW what goes on in these places, I have BEEN THERE!
The main problem with the homosexual community is that they wish to appear as moral, Godly, and clean as a whistle. People who are prostitutes, drunkards, and drug pushers, will usually at least admit they have a problem. Many GAYS are trying to establish their sexual practices as being quite normal, or at least as an "acceptable" alternative form of sexual activity. Let's consider a few facts, and examples, relating to this matter:
YES, of course! Every Christian loves Jesus, no matter if they are a woman or a man. I love the Lord more than anyone else, and He is most certainly a man. I love my dad, my son, and many other men. The difference is, I would NEVER want to consider them as a SEXUAL OBJECT.
Most homosexuals seem to consider almost anyone they find attractive, as being fair game. It does not matter if the object of their affection is a minor, teenagers are approached by gays even in small towns and rural areas. Older adults are not exempt from being solicited for sex, but KIDS seem to be a prime target. I have been a teenager, and I have also provided care for many children, this sexual solicitation is not limited to the actions of a few child molesters.
If the homosexuals were truly honest, they would have to admit that monogamous, long-term relationships are a rare phonomania in the gay community. The gay bars are only a small factor, many of today's gay population are professionals who would never enter such a place. And yes, I will also admit that many "straight" people have an equally "loose' moral fiber. But these people would not come out of the closet, and claim their actions were endorsed by God and society.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
The gay lifestyle is condemned by society in general, and the bible in particular:
FIRST BOOK OF CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 6
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor EFFEMINATE, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
The word translated effeminate, is translated as the word HOMOSEXUAL in the Scoffield bible. (and others) It can only refer to a man being EFFEMINATE, as this would be the NORMAL description of a lovely woman.
All of the gay theology in the world cannot change this clear message from God. Verse 11 indicates that homosexuals can most surly be saved, but after salvation they are NO LONGER HOMOSEXUALS! (as were some of you, verse 11) They have been WASHED clean, by the blood of Jesus Christ. If you still believe that homosexual relationships are OK, read on:
BOOK OF ROMANS CHAPTER 1
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
No wonder the gay community has sunk so low, and attempted to justify and dignify their position. Verse 26 says that God gave them up unto VILE AFFECTIONS! These verses tell how terrible both men & women can become, when left to live their lives WITHOUT GOD. AIDS is a terrible disease, but MUCH of this death could have been avoided if EVERYONE had obeyed God. (those who engage in casual "straight" sex, and drug users, are AS GUILTY as many in the gay community)
Does not common sense even tell you that the PLUMBING of human beings is not structured for same-sex sexual activity? If you want to remain a homosexual, at least admit that something is WRONG in your understanding.
SHOULD HOMOSEXUALS BE HATED & ALIENATED FROM THE CHURCH & SOCIETY IN GENERAL?
OF COURSE NOT! While I do believe homosexual acts are a sin, so is many other things that so-called "straight' people do everyday. I had a relative who attempted to molest me when I was a very young child. I was too young to know anything about sex, yet I knew that this person was doing something WRONG. I still loved this person, and I even allowed him to take me places, but I made him aware that no more of this activity was to occur. I cried when he died, and I still have fond memories of him.
Gay people need jobs, housing, and all the things everyone needs. They also have SPIRITUAL needs, just like anyone else. If your local church body blocks them from services, the church members and pastors are sinning WORSE than those they condemn. The gospel call is to WHOSOEVER will answer God's call to salvation.
About 13 years ago, I met a gay man named Freddy. He was the son of a friend of my wife, and he knew that I was in the ministry. (and he knew that I knew he was gay) He attended a family & friends gathering, and I was as friendly to him as anyone else at this informal function. He did ask me on one occassion, why I thought being homosexual was a sin. I simply pointed to one of the verses mentioned above, and asked him to deal with this matter privately. (between himself & God)
A few years later, I heard that he was now SAVED, and about to marry a beautiful young woman. Before long, he became active in the ministry. In fact, he even preached at the local church I ministered as a pastor at, in south Louisiana. He told me that the verse in the bible, and my loving attitude, was the reason he decided to seek God.
Freddy, became a very popular minister in a large city in Texas. He started a radio outreach to the homosexual community, and ministered to many souls before he died of AIDS. He was not bitter about the disease, as he finally understood that VILE sexual activity leads to destruction and death. He belongs to a man now, the Lord Jesus Christ. (as do all believers)
If I had displayed hate toward Freddy, he might have never asked me for that bible verse. How many Freddy's have you cast aside, when God was attempting to deal with them about their eternal souls? (through you, or your local church) READ THIS AND UNDERSTAND:
FIRST BOOK OF CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 5
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
This verse states that we are only to part company with someone who lives a life of sin, IF THE CLAIM TO BE A BELIEVER too! People who are seeking God, or have no pretext of being a Christian, should be WELCOME at every church. To deny the ungodly access, would be like a hospital only excepting WELL people as patients.
The major problem I have with the gay community is that SO MANY of these people are claiming to be BELIEVERS! (and want to remain DEDICATED to a homosexual lifestyle)
We were all once in sin, and many Christians slip back at times. The difference is, a REAL BELIEVER cannot not endure being in sin for very long. They will feel alienated from God, miserable, and feel OUT OF PLACE in the world. Anyone who feels comfortable in an ungodly situation, is not born again.
Homosexuals are not in a class by themselves, there are many other grave sins which are candy-coated and accepted by most today. The real sin is not being gay, it is being LOST. (unsaved) Any unsaved soul is guilty of rejecting Christ, and is bound for a fearful place in eternity. Do like Freddy, and give Jesus Christ a chance to open your spiritual eyes. If he was still here, he would plead with you to obtain the precious salvation that God has provided for you. The cross, is your gateway to righteousness. Enter in, while you still are able to do so...
